ADOPTER SURVEY

Thank you for considering one of our rescued Chesapeake Bay Retrievers. As fine a dog as we believe them to be, there is much to be considered when placing one in a new family. A 'second hand' dog often has much baggage, so it is with great care that we make each placement. Thus, any information to help us understand your family situation will be of great help in finding the right chessie for you.

Please feel free to add any other information to help us understand your desire for a chessie and the kind of home it would have with you, as well as additional expectations you would have for him/her:

We use an adoption contract whereby you promise to take good care of this adopted chessie, keep dog in good health, continue socializing and obedience training as needed. Our adoption fee is $225.00**.

Adopting a chessie is a serious commitment - their life span averages 14 to 16 years. We try to share all the information we can about each dog as he/she is adopted. We welcome your questions and continued interest whether you adopt in the near future or are considering for some later time.

**MICRO-CHIPPING - Chesapeake Safe Harbor is very pleased to be adding the capability of micro-chipping each rescued Chessie that comes thru our program, if not already done. The new home will receive the appropriate forms to register the chip number in his/her own name with AVID, a national registry.
