[ultimate_heading main_heading=”Maisy – Wonderful one year old deadgrass female, with great temperament” main_heading_margin=”margin-bottom:20px;” margin_design_tab_text=””]Maisy was going to be part of a breeder’s next generation… but her owner’s plans needed to change for health reasons, so Maisy is looking for a new home, through No Fault of her own.[/ultimate_heading]

*The plan is to rehome Maisy within a reasonable drive from Amherst MA. If you are not located with 2 – 4 hours, then your application will be considered after more local homes.

It is hoped that Maisy will live with at least one playmate, of suitable size & energy-levels to match her love of life.
If you are interested, please complete an Application on the CSH website.

While Maisy is affectionate and friendly, her size might be most appropriate is a home without small children, or those with poor balance.

She has not been ‘cat tested’ yet

For more info on Maisy, call Roger (413) 427-3630 or email chesapeakesafeharbor@gmail.com

[ultimate_heading main_heading=”Blue < Has Been Adopted >” main_heading_margin=”margin-bottom:20px;”][/ultimate_heading]

Blue is a superb four year old male Chessie, who needs to be re-homed for family reasons. He is typical Chessie – affectionate (something of a lap-dog!), loyal & smart. He loves the water and is currently living right on the ocean.

Blue will make a great companion for a family. He’s used to being involved with all the activities within the house & going on trips. He will be best in a home without cats or small dogs.

For more info on Blue call Roger (413) 427-3630 or email chesapeakesafeharbor@gmail.com

[ultimate_heading main_heading=”Pickle – Adopted recently” main_heading_margin=”margin-bottom:20px;”][/ultimate_heading]

Pickle is a seven year old female Chessie that, through no fault of her own, is in need of a new home. Her previous owner is 92 and is ill in a rehab facility, so unfortunately he will not be able to come home. She has a sweet friendly outgoing temperament, is housebroken and behaves perfectly in the home. She is not protective with people coming into the house.

Pickle’s ‘big’ issue is that she is very overweight! With a little more exercise and slightly less food, she will feel more energetic and look wonderful!

All her shots are current in March including kennel cough and H3N8 canine influenza; she’s on heartworm medication and Frontline. Her sire is Arnac Bay Ardent from England and her mother is a litter mate to a dead grass male “Thor”.

[ultimate_heading main_heading=”Ella (Cinderella) – Adopted” main_heading_margin=”margin-bottom:20px;”][/ultimate_heading]

Ella is a very sweet senior Chessie, but she had a difficult start in life spending most of her first two years tied to a post. When Chesapeake Safe Harbor first rescued her, she only knew how to walk in a circle. Through no fault of her own, Ella is back at CSH after the senior couple who adopted her for the past seven years, both passed away during the last 15 months.

Ella is sprightly and her love of life shines through. She was used to being the only dog, but at CSH she is comfortable spending time with a variety of dogs, as well as cats. She is fully house trained and up to date on vaccines. The loss of hair on her back dates from her early mistreatment, but it doesn’t bother her and she’s happy to wear a coat on the coldest days. There are several videos of her at:  www.facebook.com/ChesapeakeSafeHarbor

She is an easy guest at Chesapeake Safe Harbor, Amherst MA, but she deserves to have her own family.

For more info on Ella call Roger (413) 427-3630 or email chesapeakesafeharbor@gmail.com

[ultimate_heading main_heading=”Sylas – Adopted” main_heading_margin=”margin-bottom:20px;”][/ultimate_heading]

Sylas 3yo neutered male is enthusiastic, yet attentive. He can be wary when meeting new people, but is friendly to people and dogs.

He knows his basic commands and is so eager to please – especially when there is a food reward!

The shelter staff where he was surrendered love him…and you will too!!

Consider adopting a Chessie or Chessie mix that isn’t through Safe Harbor. These dogs are not Chesapeake Safe Harbor dogs so you will need to contact the shelter, rescue, or individual directly. These dogs are posted as a courtesy to the individuals and shelters.  Visit our “Other Chessies looking for Homes” page

Note! Be sure to fill out our application form.   We often contact prospective adopters from our applicant database before listing the dog here.
